Filipa Palha

Profile

Filipa Palha is an Assistant Professor at Faculdade de Educação e Psicologia, Universidade Católica Portuguesa (since 2006). She obtained her PhD in Psychology from the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences at Porto University. She coordinated the 1st and 2nd edition of the MSc in Psychosocial Rehabilitation.

Filipa is President and Founder of ENCONTRAR+SE – Association for the promotion of mental health, a nongovernmental organisation (www.encontrarse.pt) (since 2006). She coordinated the first national anti-stigma campaign.

She is also the coordinator of the Centre for Integrated Care of ENCONTRAR+SE, a community-based facility that provides comprehensive recovery programs for people affected directly and indirectly by mental-health problems (since 2009). Filipa is also the Director of community-based unit part of the National Network of Integrated Continued Mental Health Care (Since 2017).

Filipa was one of the Coordinator of the Support Network for the Psychosocial Rehabilitation of People with Mental Illness in the Porto Metropolitan Area (Rede de Apoio à Reabilitação Psicossocial para Pessoas com Doença Mental na Área Metropolitana do Porto – RARP-AMP (2014-2017).

She was Vice-Regional President (Europe), World Federation for Mental Health (2015-2017) and Member of the Board of Directors of the World Federation for Mental Health (2017-2019).

Filipa is Member of the Advisory Board da Global Alliance for Mental Health Advocates (since 2017) and represents ENCONTRAR+SE at the Global Anti-Stigma Alliance (since 2017).

Filipa coordinates several projects related to the promotion of mental health, and intervention in mental illness.
