FEP-UCP professors publish an article in the Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health

Luísa Campos, Lurdes Veríssimo, Bárbara Nobre, Catarina Morais and Pedro Dias published the article “Protective Factors in the Use of Electronic Media According to Youth and Their Parents: An Exploratory Study”, in the special issue "Media Use during Childhood and Adolescence" (Digital health section) of the International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health (JCR - Q1 - Public, Environmental & Occupational Health). https://doi.org/10.3390/ijerph18073573.

This article gives important clues to parents and professionals (e.g., teachers, coaches, psychologists) regarding the protective role of extracurricular activities (e.g., sports) in young people. The main result obtained indicates that the decrease in the perception of negative impact of electronic media on young people is more determined by the frequency of extracurricular activities (regardless of the time they are there), than by the shorter time spent in electronic media.
