Patrícia Oliveira-Silva is an Assistant Professor in the Faculdade de Educação e Psicologia at the Universidade Católica Portuguesa. She obtained her Bachelors in Biological Sciences in 2006 from the UFRN (Brasil), and in 2014 she completed her Ph.D. Degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of Minho (Braga – Portugal) with the title ‘The Neuropsychophysiological Bases of Empathy’.
Her research is focused on neuroscience. She coordinated projects with national and international funding, cooperated with national and international research groups, supervised students at the postgraduate level and organized scientific events and summer courses.
She is particularly committed to studying the interplay between peripheral physiological and psychological processes in social neurosciences, namely, empathy, emotion regulation, psychophysiological synchrony and environmental attitudes.
She currently serves as director of the Human Neurobehavioral Laboratory (HNL) and member of the Board of Directors of the Research Centre for Human Development (CEDH).
