Alexandra Doroftei

Profile

Alexandra Doroftei holds a Ph.D. in Educational Sciences on the theme of Apprenticeship Courses and Social Justice by the University of Porto. She is the author and co-author of several scientific products (articles, reports, presentations, book, and book chapters) on the themes of vocational education and training, early leaving from education and training/early school leaving, European citizenship, and networking. She has collaborated as a researcher in several research projects. Since January 2021 she has a post-doctoral research fellowship at the Universidade Católica Portuguesa where she is working with the institutionalization of Service-Learning methodology. Her research interests include social justice and equality; social inclusion; school success; early leaving from education and training; youth studies; educational policies; educational networking; higher education; service-learning, and vocational education and training. Besides the academy she has worked in schools with pupils from the 1st to the 9th grade; in a Childhood and Youth Home, with children and young people at risk; and in an NGO with disadvantaged populations.
