Mariana Barbosa

Profile

Mariana Reis Barbosa has a PhD in Psychology of Justice from Minho University and is Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Education and Psychology in the Catholic University of Portugal. She is researcher at the Research Centre for Human Development (CEDH). She has been dedicated her teaching, research and intervention activities to the area of Human Rights and Peace Psychology. She coordinates the areas of Education and Psychology in the Interdisciplinary Post Graduation on Human Rights. She is national coordinator of Heroic Imagination Project, an international project founded and leaded by Philip Zimbardo. She has been national coordinator in several international projects funded by the European Commission, being currently national coordinator in the european project Safe Zone (Prevention of Radicalization and Violent Extremism) and national co-coordinator in the european project Pro.Vi (Protecting Victims Rights) e in the european project SeRV (Services and Rights for Victims of Crime). She represents the Catholic University of Portugal in the Executive Commission of the Refugee Support Platform (PAR), and she was the founder and field coordinator of the volunteer program ‘Refugee Support Platform @ Frontline’ at Lesvos, Greece.
