Bárbara Cesar Machado, CEDH’s researcher, is co-author in an article published on Current Psychology, now available as 'Online First'. The article is titled “Adult attachment in eating disorders mediates the association between perceived invalidating childhood environments and eating psychopathology” and was co-authored with Sónia Gonçalves, Ana Isabel Vieira, Tânia Rodrigues, Paulo P. Machado (researchers from Psychotherapy and Psychopathology Research Unit – CIPsi, School of Psychology, University of Minho, Braga, Portugal), Isabel Brandão, Sertório Timóteo and Patrícia Nunes (Psychiatry Department, Faculty of Medicine, Hospital of S. João, Porto, Portugal). The results obtained in this study highlight the potential role of the perception of an invalidating family environment in the development of eating pathology and of difficulties in intimate relationships.
