FEP team present at the Final European Conference of the Safe Zone Project
On 25 March the European Final Conference of the Safe Zone Project: Empowering coaches and trainers in sports to prevent youth radicalization and violent extremism took place in Rome. The Portuguese project team was represented in Rome by the Professors of FEP-UCP Mariana Barbosa (national coordinator of the project) and Catarina Ribeiro (senior researcher in the project), by Alcídio Jesus and Paulo Rocha, representatives of the partner entity at the national level, the Portuguese Institute of Sport and Youth.
In addition to presenting the results of the project, the conference had interventions by experts in the field of radicalization and/or sport from the different countries involved in the project (Italy, Germany, Portugal and Slovenia). Nuno Delgado, former European judo champion and Olympic medallist and currently responsible for the Nuno Delgado Judo School, was the Portuguese speaker at a panel of sports coaches dedicated to the theme "the pedagogical dimension of sports practice: testimonies of coaches"
