Filipe Martins was a guest speaker at the 2nd National Meeting of Second Chance Education Initiatives, which took place on December 16, 2019 at the Ermesinde Cultural Forum. The CEDH researcher presented the oral communication "Right to a Second Chance: Lessons Learned from the Voices of Young People Who Dropped Out and Returned to Education", which summarized the results of his postdoctoral studies in Education Sciences at FEP / CEDH under the PROMISE project. This meeting was aimed at researchers, policy makers, teachers, socio-educational professionals and students who are involved in Second Opportunity Education initiatives, and was attended by, among others, the Secretary of State of Education, João Costa, and the President from the National Education Council, Maria Emília Brederode dos Santos.
