The International Conference on Youth Social Engagement Conference - Opportunities and Challenges for 'Conflicted' Young People across Europe was held on February 28^th in the Auditorium of Casa das Histórias Paula Rego, in Cascais, Portugal. This Conference was promoted by the international research project PROMISE - Promoting Youth Involvement and Social Engagement - Opportunities and challenges for 'conflicted' young people across Europe, a project funded by Horizon 2020, coordinated by the University of Manchester and developed in Portugal by the Universidade Católica Portuguesa - Porto. This conference brought to Portugal European researchers (from UK, Portugal, Spain, Germany, Italy, and Estonia) who are part of the PROMISE project, in order to share with the Portuguese public their preliminary findings on different experiences of participation and social involvement of young Europeans.
