Patrícia Oliveira-Silva, director of the Human Neurobehavioral Laboratory (HNL) and assistant professor in the Faculdade de Educação e Psicologia, coauthored a scientific article in the prestigious journal Psychophysiology, with the title "When our hearts beat together: Cardiac synchrony as an entry point to understand dyadic co‐regulation in couples". The authors evaluated the physiological synchrony at the cardiac activity level in couples; the pattern of synchrony during face-to-face interactions considering different emotional valences; and, the association between cardiac synchrony and the perception of empathic skills and satisfaction with the relationship.
