Patrícia Oliveira-Silva, Pedro Dias and Bárbara Machado, professors in the FEP-UCP, received funding from the BIAL Foundation (Grant Programme 2016/2017) to conduct a scientific project entitled Physiological Indices of the Deleterious Effects of Unrealistic Media Images on Body Satisfaction: A Cross-Cultural Investigation. The objective of this cross-cultural study (involving Portugal, Brazil, and the United States) is to explore the deleterious impact of the digitally-altered images to improve the physical appearance of models, on the body satisfaction of young people.
